Research and production department of geometric measurement
(department № 23)

The department consists of:

• Length measurement laboratory (laboratory № 23-1)
• Research and production laboratory of angular and geodetic measurement (laboratory № 23-2)

The department conducts the following types of works:

• development and maintenance of national measurement and other subordinate standards of Ukraine;
• development, production, and research of working measurement standards of the length, planar angle, and liquid level;
• development and expertise of international and national measurement standards in accordance with the scope of activities;
• expertise of materials based on the results of measuring instruments (MIs) tests performed by accredited laboratories;
• development of calibration procedures and projects of verification procedures;
• conformity assessment of working measurement standards of the length, planar angle and liquid level with the requirements of the Technical Regulations;
• organization of interlaboratory comparisons (proficiency testing) in the field of length and planar angle measurement.

The department also develops and supplies:

• Autocollimation multi-reference-lines measurement standard (AMRL)
• VESSEL GRADUATION SYSTEM program package (VGS) for processing the measurement results of tanks using geodetic instruments
• Photoelectric autocollimators AKF-0.2
