Laboratory № 23-1

Length Measurement Laboratory
(laboratory № 23-1)

VETU 01-03-03-98 Secondary measurement standard of length - meter

VETU 01-03-03-98 had been created on the base of the Kösters interferometers.

The scientist-keeper of VETU 01-03-03-98 is Dmytro TOPTUNENKO, leading metrology engineer.

CMC ID in the official KCDB website: EURAMET-L-UA-00000ORB-1.

Institute service identifier: UkrCSM/4.

The laboratory conducts the following types of works:

  • development, production, and research of working measurement standards of the length and liquid level;
  • conformity assessment of legal measuring instruments (MIs):
    • Evel gauges;
    • Material measures of length (tapes, rigid rulers, folding rulers, scales, measuring sticks of wood, measuring sticks);
    • Length MIs of rope-type materials (e.g., textiles, bands, cables);
    • Area MIs of irregular-shaped objects (e.g., for leather);
    • Multi-dimensional MIs of the edge length (length, height, width) of the smallest enclosing rectangular parallelepiped of a product.
  • Calibration of:
    • MIs and reproducing of linear quantities (length, width, height, distance, diameter, thickness, radius, level, etc.);
    • MIs of linear deformation of materials during their tests (extensometers);
    • MIs and reproducing roughness.
  • Verification of legal MIs:
    • Material measures of length (tapes, rigid rulers, rigid rods, folding rulers, scales, measuring sticks of wood, measuring sticks);
    • Length measuring instruments of rope-type materials (e.g., textiles, bands, cables);
    • Area MIs of irregular-shaped objects (e.g., for leather);
    • Multi-dimensional MIs of the edge length (length, height, width) of the smallest enclosing rectangular parallelepiped of a product;
    • Level gauges.
