The International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) has published information and resources on artificial intelligence and legal metrology. They are intended as a starting point for people working in legal metrology who are seeking information and guidance on artificial intelligence.
The material addresses the use of AI in measurement, as well as AI in processes and services related to conformity assessment and legal metrology.
The resources are prepared and maintained by the DTG Subgroup “Guidance on AI”. Its main objectives are to:
- provide fundamental terminology on AI and machine learning;
- address topics such as regulation, standardization, risks and challenges;
- foster interaction, collaboration and training on AI.
The Subgroup gathers material and seeks collaboration and exchange both within and beyond the OIML.
The OIML page provides access to the following thematic sections:
- Examples of international activities
- Terminology and vocabulary
- International Standards on AI
- AI Regulation
For the metrology community, this is a structured resource for exploring terminology, international activities, standards and regulatory topics related to artificial intelligence.
