The 58 meeting of the International Committee of Legal Metrology (CIML)

The Fifty-eighth meeting of the International Committee of Legal Metrology (CIML) was held on 17-19 October 2023 in Chiang Mai, Kingdom of Thailand. 54 Member States, 5 Corresponding Members and 1 Organisation in Liaison were present or represented.
Dr Yurii KUZMENKO, Honored Metrologist of Ukraine, Deputy Director General of SE “UKRMETRTESTSTANDART” and CIML Member from Ukraine in accordance with the Metre Convention and PhD Ihor POTOTSKYI, Director of research and technical institute of the National Metrology Service of Ukraine of SE “UKRMETRTESTSTANDART” took part in the meeting. During the Committee Dr Yurii KUZMENKO held talks with Mr Jaco Marneweck, CEEMS Advisory Group (CEEMS AG) Chairperson about possible fruitful cooperation with the CEEMS AG because Ukraine has a very valuable experience in transforming the sphere of legal metrology to current world approaches. More recently, our state has passed through its reformation and has answers to the systemic questions that arise in the process of such restructuring.
 
The following publications were approved by the Committee:
  • Revision of OIML D 31:2019 General requirements for software-controlled measuring instruments (as amended in 2020);
  • Revision of OIML B 6:2019 Directives for OIML technical work (Parts 1 and 2).
The following new projects were approved by the CIML:
  • Revision of D 31:2023 General requirements for software-controlled measuring instruments;
  • New Recommendation DC electricity metering.
